Biking in Cape Town
Famous bicycle races such as the Cape Argus attract up to 35,000 participants. The Cape Epic - a multi-day mountain bike race for the very crazy - increasingly puts Cape Town and South Africa on the cycling map internationally.
The great location of the city with mountain and sea offers fantastic road routes around the Cape. If you prefer shorter trips a short ride across Chapmanspeak will satisfy you. The mountainous wine regions invites you explore them by bike.
If you prefer mountain bike single-track trails you are at the right place. Table Mountain and the surrounding mountains have some serious MTB trails. You'll find everything from simple, wide jeep trecks to single trails with steep downhills. This all often in sandy or muddy conditions. One can also get rid of steam in one of the many vineyards. Many farms have in recent years prepared trails which attract more and more locals to the cycling sport.

The Western Cape offers infinite climbing possibilities on Table Mountain. Several climbing routes are to be found in the Cape Peninsula National Park and are easily accessible from the Cape surf Hostel within 1 hour.
One of our favorite spots is "Peers Cave" at the Cape. Something for everyone be it beginner or pro - there are trails for all skill levels.
"Talking to the Trees" is a 7 with a nice overhang at the end. You will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.

Get abseiled from an altitude of 1000 meters from Table Mountain. You will be surrounded by beautiful views of the blue Atlantic which lies at your feet.
The day trip - Kamikaze Kanyon – at the River Gorge includes a 45 minute hike up to the rock pools including kloofing with jumps from 3 to 22 meters. At the end of the trip you will abseil Thunder Falls. Meals and transportation are included in this tour.
